Message from the Principal

Welcome to Nitrauer Elementary School! Home of the Noble Knights!

We strive to make learning engaging and fun! I feel extremely fortunate to be the principal of a school with such wonderful children, a motivated and dedicated staff, and parents who work with us to create an environment that facilitates student learning through a wide variety of innovative and collaborative methods and activities. The Manheim Township School District’s Mission is to “Nurture and Challenge for Success.” Our faculty and staff are highly committed to providing the most rewarding education possible and making the process of learning an enjoyable experience for each and every student. Your child’s education is our top priority!  We look forward to working together with you to make your child’s educational experience a positive one.

The students at Nitrauer take pride in being part of a learning community where they are recognized for positive behavior. We intentionally teach and model expectations of respect, responsibility, and safety as part of our Positive Behavior Interventions and Support system (PBIS). Students have opportunities to be celebrated for Respectful, Responsible, and Safe behaviors throughout the school day. Recognitions include daily NIT Notes, weekly NIT Note winners, earning student of the month honors, and monthly school-wide “First Friday” celebration assemblies that focus on behavior expectations and accomplishments. We, as a school community, believe in the importance of teaching kids how to treat one another, treat their spaces, and treat themselves. We recognize the need to teach the whole child, which includes instruction for behavioral, emotional, and social norms and expectations.
