Have you ever given consideration to being a vehicle driver?

All school bus drivers are governed by the regulations of the U.S. and Pennsylvania Departments of Transportation.

A school bus driver must:

  • Hold a CDL license with a passenger endorsement and pass a physical examination.
  • Take a 20-hour course, which includes a minimum of 14 hours in the classroom and six hours behind the wheel of a school bus.
  • Receive a school bus endorsement to their CDL license.
  • Must pass a Pennsylvania School Bus physical exam annually and be re-certified every four years. This includes seven hours of classroom instruction and three hours of behind the wheel experience.

Driving a van offers individuals the opportunity to operate nine-passenger vehicles on a part-time basis, with training offered through Brightbill Transportation.

If interested in pursing a position, please contact Brenda Moss or Carla Rieker at Brightbill Transportation (717-519-1506 or brightbill@mtwp.net) to get further information about the requirements for becoming a vehicle driver at Manheim Township School District!
