Statement re: Retirement
Superintendent Dr. Robin Felty

Good evening, members of the school board, district staff and community members.

As many of you know, after over 34 years of service in public education – which include 10+ years at Manheim Township (8 ½ years as the Superintendent [as of 12/2024] and 2 years as a Special Education Supervisor), I have decided to retire from the Superintendent of Schools position on December 16, 2024. This decision comes after much reflection and consideration.

It has been an incredible honor and privilege to serve as the Superintendent for this wonderful school district. Over the course of my tenure here, I have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful students, families, teachers, and staff.

Together, we have fostered a challenging and nurturing environment where students can thrive, learn, and grow. We’ve worked collectively to implement our North Star - which is to make Manheim Township a welcoming, supportive environment where all students, staff, and families feel a sense of belonging. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished thus far.

While I am excited to begin this new chapter of my life, I will deeply miss the daily interactions, the successes and challenges, and the sense of purpose that has driven my work every day. This school district and the community will always hold a special place in my heart.

As I transition into this new chapter of my life, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our school board members, our leadership team, our teachers and all district staff, and our students and their families that I've had the privilege of serving over the years. I also want to take a moment to share my appreciation to the original school board members that first elected me to the position of Superintendent during that special board meeting on Thursday, June 30, 2016. I am eternally grateful that they blessed me with the opportunity to lead this great district.

The support, collaboration, and commitment to our students from ALL stakeholders have made my time here truly rewarding. I am excited to see how our school district continues to evolve and succeed in the coming years.

Thank you for the wonderful memories and for allowing me to be a part of this amazing journey. I look forward to staying connected and cheering on our district from the sidelines.

Thank you.
