Physical Exams

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires that a physical examination be performed on every child at original entry, in sixth grade, in high school (9th grade for Manheim Township), and in other grades where the school health records are found to be incomplete.

We recommend that these examinations be done by your family physician since he or she is best able to provide continuity of care.

If you are unable to obtain a private exam, the Manheim Township School District is approved by the PA Department of Health to provide a program of expanded services including physical assessments. These assessments are provided by school nurse practitioners.
