Superintendent Search Update: Focus Groups

Dear MTSD Parents, Guardians, Students, Staff and Community:
As we look ahead to the future of our District, the search for our next Superintendent is a critical step in shaping the vision and leadership for our schools. This process is well underway, and we are excited to provide an update on our progress and share opportunities for you to get involved.
The application phase of the superintendent search will conclude on Monday, February 3. We have advertised the position nationally and conducted targeted outreach to ensure a strong and diverse pool of candidates. As the Board prepares to review applications and schedule interviews, we are committed to keeping our community informed and
engaged every step of the way.
Focus Groups
District stakeholder input is an essential part of this process. To gather your insights and priorities, we are organizing a series of focus groups. Please refer to the table below to determine the date, time, and location (virtual or in person) of your specific stakeholder focus group.
To encourage open and honest conversations, the Board will not be present during any of the focus group meetings. Chester County Intermediate Unit representatives will facilitate the meetings and collect all information in aggregate form. Participant feedback will remain anonymous to the MTSD Board.
We ask that you RSVP at least one day prior to your scheduled focus group to ensure appropriate Zoom setup and privacy. You can RSVP by clicking on the link in the table below. Registered participants for Zoom focus groups will be sent a Zoom link in a follow-up email and your information will not be shared with MTSD.

All input received from the focus groups will be reviewed by the CCIU. Themes that emerge across all or most of all audiences, both internal and external, will be utilized to develop interview questions, to create the best candidate profile, and to help guide the Board.
Next Steps
After the application deadline of February 3, the Board will conduct preliminary screenings of applicant resumes and credentials and will interview the most highly qualified candidates. After the first round of interviews, the Board will select candidates for a second round of interviews to determine who best meets the needs of our district.
We hope to have the search process completed by Spring 2025 so that the new superintendent can assume their responsibilities at the Manheim Township School District on or as close to July 1, 2025, as possible.
