Dear Neff Families,
What a fantastic year it’s been for students, staff, and families at Neff Elementary School. We have a lot to be proud of. Students have done amazing things in their classrooms. It is incredible to see how much academic, social, and emotional growth we have seen. I encourage you to take some time with your child to reflect about his or her school year. Try to find some examples of something he or she worked on at the beginning of the year and compare it to the end of the year. Congratulate your child on his or her accomplishments! Students learned about grit and the benefits of a growth mindset. We will continue to work on developing those traits next year.
Summer is a time to relax and enjoy time together. It’s also important for kids to continue to read and practice their math facts. The Manheim Township Public Library has a great reading program for kids where they can get lots of fun prizes. One of my favorite memories as a child is sitting in a tree and reading a book. I hope you can make a memory like that with your child this summer!
MTSD has exciting news… Kids eat free! Free lunch is available for all youth 18 and under this summer. Adults can purchase a meal for $3.95. There are no eligibility requirements and no applications are required. Lunch will be available 11:00am – 1:00pm Monday through Thursday at the following locations:
Bucher Elementary School – June 19 through August 7, 2017
Manheim Township Middle School – June 19 through August 7, 2017
Neff Elementary School – June 19 through July 27, 2017
Manheim Township is excited to let you know that we will be able to share important messages with you via our School Messenger system. In order to make sure you get important messages from Neff or the district, we need your correct email! Please take time over the summer months to update your email addresses via the student sapphire portal, by updating your information in first day packets (that you will receive at the start of the school year), or contacting your building principal and/or secretary.
Congratulations to Ryan Usner, Joshua Hampp, Sophia Jackson, Lillian Pallan, Ben Cardona, Thomas Beattie, Myanna Happonen, Benjamin Trauger, Owen Baker, Landyn DesAutels, Kaylee Wagner, Isaac Link, Maya Westphal, Katelyn Baker, and Adrianna Anujin for showing self-control during the month of May. Gritty kids show self control by exercising willpower!
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. I wish our 4th graders all the best as they transition to Landis Run next year and look forward to welcoming back the rest of our students on August 28th!
Sincerely,
Travis Bash
