For the month of February, Reidenbaugh will be doing a mail activity where students will be able to send letters to other classmates, staff, and teachers in Reidenbaugh. We are doing this fun activity so we can all come together as a Reidenbaugh family, to embrace compassionate behaviors, and form a sense of community amongst the students and staff. Students will be given time in class to work on this project.

Bingo Night is scheduled for February 16th from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gym. Doors open at 6:15 PM and they promptly start at 6:30PM, please be on time. It is $2 per person and an additional $1 per card. Parents must accompany their children. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

February 23rd will be our Kids for a Cause Collection day. Please bring in any loose change that you have to participate in a school wide pajama day. The money that we raise will be used to support Ruby’s Rainbow. More details will follow closer to the date.

Our talent show will be on February 23rd and 24th starting at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. If your child signed up to perform the auditions will be held after school on February 6th. More details will follow closer to the date. We look forward to seeing all of the performances.

Food Service Information

What’s the deal with school lunch? Students, in addition to their entrée, can opt for 1 fruit, 1-2 vegetables and milk included in the $2.20 cost. To count as a complete, reimbursable meal, students must take a ½-cup serving of fruit or vegetable along with two other elements of a meal. Otherwise, meal components must be sold a la carte. Our menu provides vegetables in every color of the rainbow as well as a variety of seasonal fruit.

A favorite entrée of students is: (3) French toast sticks. Our entrée has 80 fewer calories, 0.5g less saturated fat, 495mg less sodium, 4g more fiber, 9g less sugar (that’s 2 ¼ teaspoons!) when compared to 3 Eggo French Toast Sticks. Our Rich’s French toast sticks are made with whole grain, which contributes to dietary fiber, that many children’s diets are lacking.

Another favorite of students is: personal pizza. Our Nardone Bros. personal cheese pizza contains 300 fewer calories, 16g less fat, 5g less saturated fat, 1160mg less sodium, and 37g fewer carbohydrates when compared to Pizza Hut’s personal cheese pizza. Although we think of a personal pizza as a good size meal for a student, nutritionally, Pizza Hut’s personal pizza should be two meals!

Give us the opportunity to feed your children healthier meals at school! Find our menu on: https://www.mtwp.net/about/food-services/

Have questions, concerns about school meals, feel free to contact the district nutritionist at FeagaKr@mtwp.net

Please be sure to dress your child warmly because we do try to have recess outside each day. In the event that the weather is too extreme we will have indoor recess.

Sincerely,

Trudi Smith
