Student Registration

New Student Registration

Welcome to Manheim Township!  In order to enroll a new student within the Manheim Township School District, the following items must be completed before any student may attend his/her first day of classes.  Complete all forms in the Enrollment Packet - download pdf file located at the bottom of the page.

1.     Provide original documentation showing your child’s birth date and legal name to be copied for school records (birth certificate or passport). Children eligible for kindergarten must be 5 years prior to September 1.

2.     Documentation to support verification of residency affidavit.  This documentation includes valid driver’s license and one of the following: current utility bill or sales/lease agreement.  NOTE: the residency affidavit needs to be notarized (this can be done at the District Office)

3.     Please provide your child’s immunizations records to be copied for the Health Room. If your child does not meet the minimum State requirement for immunizations he/she may not enter a classroom until such immunizations (or documentation) have been received. If you are unable to have your child immunized through your physician, contact the State Department of Health at 299-7597 for more information.  Students entering grades 1, 3 and 5 are also required to have a dental exam before the beginning of the new school year.  Please bring a copy  of the dental exam to the registration meeting, form located at bottom of page.

4.     If your child is in grades K-5, he/she will be assigned to an elementary school depending upon the current class size, your residential address and any special needs your child may have.  After he/she is assigned to a school, you may contact the assigned school to make an appointment to visit.

5.     If your child is in the 6th grade your building assignment will be Neff 6. No class scheduling is necessary; however you may contact the school to arrange a visit.

6.     If your child is in grades 7-12, you will need to meet with a guidance counselor at the middle or high school so that course selections and class schedules can be made. Please allow at least four (4) days following the submission of a completed enrollment packet before calling to make an appointment with guidance. The Middle School will call you once all documentation is received. The High School can be reached at 717-560-3097 to set up an appointment.

Typically, the registration process will take two to four days to complete. However, if information is incomplete or documentation is unavailable, it will take longer. Your child may not attend classes until the process is complete. We appreciate your efforts in making this happen as quickly as possible.

The following documents are required for all students registering in the district:

·     Original legal document showing name and date of birth (birth certificate or passport)

·    Immunization records

·    Proof of residency: valid driver's license plus a current utility bill or sales/lease agreement

·    If your child has an Individual Educational Program (IEP) it is highly recommended that a copy is brought to the enrollment meeting.

Records from the prior school will be requested after the enrollment process has been completed; however, documents (i.e., progress reports, teacher recommendations and class schedule) may ease the placement process.

NOTE: All registrations are processed at the District Office

Please call Cynthia Bauman for an appointment once all forms are completed at 717-569-8231.
